Rosemary's story

An Oxford Brookes education was possible only because of the availability of financial support

I think it is wonderful that there are people out there prepared to recognise that financial aid can make a difference in the lives of students

Rosemary, English Studies graduate

Like many other students, Rosemary Dains was able to attend Brookes only because of financial support made available through our scholarships and bursaries programme. For future students, the opportunity to study at Brookes will be made possible because of the philanthropic support of alumni and friends of the university. For Rosemary, she was determined to make the most her opportunity: Rosemary's ability and hard work, coupled with the financial support made possible by people like you, resulted in her achieving a first class honours degree.

Rosemary is emphatic: "It would not have been possible for me, as an unsupported mother, to pursue my education in English Studies without the financial aid I received from Brookes. I think it is wonderful that there are people out there prepared to recognise that financial aid can make a difference in the lives of students. I hope that private donors will continue to support the efforts undertaken by the University to raise funds for students."
